Student Name: Ashiq

Profession: Fitness Coach/ Founder of Primal Fitness

Problems He Identified:

  1. Forgetting his lines

  2. Stuttering

  3. Lack of Flow

  4. Stage Fear

Problems I Identified:

  1. Not sticking to the Point

  2. Lack of Structure

  3. Poor Body Language

  4. Monotonous Voice

Goal set by us: To be able to confidently conduct corporate seminars and get rid of stage fear.

Steps taken to tackle these problems

The first thing we dealt with was bringing structure to the presentation.

We did this with a simple framework : Hook, Story , 3 Problems , Solutions to Respective Problems, CTA.

This approach helped him get consistency with his presentations so that he can nail them each time.

The next thing we looked at was fixing his body language and showing the audience the story instead of a boring narration. We mastered story delivery through countless activities within the sessions to make the stories feel relatable and help the audience paint a mental picture.

To deal with stage fear, I taught him a few exercises to do before going on stage including a confidence pose and some breathing exercises. A tip that he found helpful was keeping the presentations conversational to take off the stress associated with presenting. We also looked at how he could share his perspectives in the presentation rather than forgettable facts.

Some of the problems he had identified including stuttering were falsely identified as I didn’t see him stutter at all. We dealt with him forgetting his lines with a simple tip I tell all my clients, don’t focus on the script but rather on the key ideas. For his monotonous voice, we worked on exercises that helped him explore different pitches and pacing, which made his voice more energetic.

Lastly, we made optimized PPT presentations for his fitness pitches as well as seminars. After some practice, now Ashiq is able to deliver these pitches confidently.
